OPERATIONAL INTEGRITY

A Foundation of Regulatory Adherence

OCEAN CONNECT SHIPPING PTE. LTD. operates under the laws of the Republic of Singapore and strictly adheres to internationally recognized maritime treaties, economic sanctions regimes, and anti-money laundering standards. We view commercial integrity as paramount to safeguarding our shipowner partners, charterers, financial institutions, and commodity clients.

1. International Sanctions Compliance

Ocean Connect enforces an uncompromising policy against engaging in transactions involving individuals, entities, vessels, or nations subject to economic sanctions imposed by the United Nations (UN), the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the United States (OFAC), the European Union (EU), or the United Kingdom (FCDO).

  • Comprehensive screening of all counterparties, beneficial owners, and banks prior to trade confirmation.
  • Vessel AIS track analysis, ownership tracing, and port-of-call history verification to prevent illicit ship-to-ship (STS) transfers.
  • Inclusion of standard BIMCO Sanctions Clauses across all voyage and time charter parties.

2. Anti-Bribery & Ethical Business Conduct

We operate under a zero-tolerance approach toward bribery, extortion, facilitation payments, and corrupt business practices, strictly aligning with the Singapore Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA) and international anti-bribery standards (such as the UK Bribery Act and US FCPA).

All commercial negotiations, brokerage commissions, and transaction terms must be documented transparently and accurately reflected in audited books and records.

3. Cargo, Environmental & IMO Standards

All cargo movements—including containerized goods, breakbulk, dry bulk, and energy commodities—must fully comply with International Maritime Organization (IMO) conventions, MARPOL environmental requirements, and local port authority regulations.

  • Mandatory verified gross mass (VGM) declarations for all containerized cargo pursuant to SOLAS guidelines.
  • Material safety data sheets (MSDS) and dangerous goods declarations for hazardous commodities under the IMDG Code.
  • Independent surveyor inspection certificates (quality and quantity) for bulk petroleum and chemical shipments.
